Infrastructure
& Facilities
The Academy at present consists of main administrative block, having five classrooms with audio-video facilities, a library with e-research facilities, computer centre, two conference halls, an auditorium, chambers for the chairman, director and other officers, mediation rooms, psychiatrist's room, counseling centre, a common TV room, video conferencing room and all other facilities essential for conducting the various training programmes and cafeteria. The entire administrative block is centrally air conditioned. There is a separate building of guest house with 81 rooms for trainees and 7 executive suites for accommodating guest faculty. For indoor sports there is a billiard-pool table, table tennis tables, chess and carom boards in the Guest House. Further there are bungalows for the Director and Joint Directors and residential quarters for the Additional Directors, officers and staff members. In the Second phase, there will be expansion of guest house and a separate club-house with swimming pool.
Auditorium - Ambience Ahoy
The auditorium is a part of the main administrative block with a sitting capacity of 406 persons. The seats installed in the auditorium are self-tilting with writing tablet mechanism. Apart from being fully air-conditioned, it has a state-of-the-art design. It has been planned in a manner that all the electrical fixtures used in the hall maintain the same degree of lux level all around, giving a soothing effect to the eyes. The audio-system maintains a uniform sound level without any distortion. The dais has a solid wood flooring and adds to the majesty of the auditorium. Over all, the auditorium presents a good ambience for higher learning and intellectual pursuits.
Class Rooms
There are two large class rooms having sitting capacity of 75 each. One is on the 2nd floor and the other is on the 3rd floor. There are three small class rooms with capacity of 30 persons each on the first floor for training activities. They are furnished with facilities for audio-video recording, power point presentations, white board and mike systems. Conference Halls
The two conference halls situated on the first floor are fully equipped with facilities for audio-video recording, power point presentations, mike systems. Moot Court Room The moot court room has a dais and chairs for litigants and advocates. It is fully furnished and operational for conducting mock-drills and mock trials. Mediation Rooms
Two mediation rooms attached with a counseling room and a psychiatrist's room are ready to function as medication centre.
Library
Keeping in view the aims and objects of the academy, the library has been planned and developed in large and spacious room, furnished with two round tables, an executive lounge, and a photocopying machine. The library is enriched with a collection of Law books, Commentaries, Central & State Bare Acts, Digests, E-Books on CDs, Encyclopedia of Statutory Rules, Halsbury's Laws of England and Halsbury's Laws of India. It also has a wide range of books on general reading which includes autobiographies of eminent personalities like Lord Denning, Lord Halsbury, Former Chief Justice of India Shri Hidayatullah, Former Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court, Shri M.C. Chagla etc. The library subscribes to various periodicals, national and regional newspapers and magazines. Online legal database like AIR Supreme Court, AIR High Court, AIR Privy Council, Criminal Law Journal, SCC Online, LJ Soft, BCI Infotech and Manupatra which covers the Bombay High Court Cases etc., is also available in the library with six computers for accessing this legal database. The library has adopted an open access system to facilitate readers to have direct access to library resources. Computer facility
The computer laboratory is fully equipped with latest computers/servers interconnected in Local Area Network. Internet access is provided through MTNL Triband of 2 MBPS Capacity shared by all the computers in the computer laboratory. The facility to search case laws, orders and judgments is provided through the Internet. The computer laboratory helps to demonstrate the application of information technology in judiciary and helps judicial officers. Recreation Activity
Table Tennis Table
Two
recreation rooms are furnished with LCD T.V.s. situated on the Second and Third floors of
the administrative block. Furthermore, for sports
activities, indoor games such as two table-tennis tables, two carom
boards and two chess boards are arranged in two spacious rooms, in
the same block on Third Floor. Cafeteria ![]() The cafeteria is in the basement and provides breakfast, lunch and dinner. The cafeteria is fully furnished with a modular kitchen and dining facilities for about 150 persons. Guest House
![]() Inside of Guest House A 3-storeyed guest house complex sprawls right behind the main academy building. The hostel offers well-planned and tastefully decorated array of self contained rooms that offer the first class comforts to the resident inmates. Each room has capacity of double occupancy with adequate amenities like study table, storage and designer bathrooms.
