B.A., LL.M.

Born on 30th April 1962 at Goa. Completed his graduation from St.Xavier's College, Goa in 1983. Graduated in Law in the year 1986 from Siddharth Law College, Mumbai. Did his LL.M. from University of Bombay in 1988.

Enrolled as an Advocate on 21st July 1986.

Joined the chambers of Shri Shirish Gupte, Senior Advocate and former Additional Solicitor General. Initially started practice in all Courts in Mumbai and handled both civil as well as criminal litigation. Subsequently specialized in criminal matters.

Appeared in matters relating to prisoners' rights, illegal detention, preventive detention, parole, furlough and matters of premature release and remission. Was a member of the Committee appointed by Bombay High Court to look into the plight of prisoners and conditions in prisons in the State of Maharashtra. As a member of said committee, headed by Senior Advocates, visited several jails in Maharashtra and after inerviewing a number of under-trials and convicts/prisoners, drafted a report, relating to the conditions in prison and recommended improvements thereto.

Was empanelled as Senior Advocate by Mumbai Municipal Corporation and represented the Corporation in its various proceedings.

Was Honorary Lecturer between 1987 and 1988 at Siddharth Law College, Mumbai.

Was engaged as a Part Time Professor at Jitendra Chauhan College of Law, Mumbai.

Was a visiting Professor for the LL.M. course (1st and 2nd years), Bombay University, at Mumbai between 2011 and 2012. Delivered lectures on Criminal Law and Criminal Administration.

Elevated as Additional Judge of Bombay High Court on 17th March 2016.
