JUSTICE MADHAV J. JAMDARJUSTICE MADHAV J. JAMDAR
B.Sc., LL.B.

Born on 13th January, 1967. Hails from Pune (Maharashtra). Did his schooling at various schools in Maharashtra including Pethe High School, Nashik and Balmohan Vidyamandir, Shivaji Park, Dadar, Mumbai. Then did his B.Sc. from Kirti College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Dadar, Mumbai. Thereafter joined Ramnaryan Ruia College, Matunga, Mumbai, and obtained a Diploma in Industrial-Analytical Chemistry in 1988, while simultaneously working in a Pharmaceutical Company till 1989. Studied law at New Law College, Dadar, Mumbai and got his LL.B degree in 1991.

His father Mr. J.D. Jamdar was in judicial service from 1960 to 1994. He retired as Judge of Bombay City Civil and Sessions Court in 1989. Thereafter, he worked till 1994 as Member, Industrial Court, Mumbai. He expired on 26.04.2011.

During his law studies, he interned with Late Mr. M.A.Rane, Advocate. He joined Late Mr. M.A.Rane's chamber, after obtaining his LL.B degree in 1991.

He practiced extensively on the Appellate as well as Original Side in the Bombay High Court and appeared in a large number of Civil, Criminal and constitutional matters. Appeared in a number of PILs concerning important issues such as deaths of sewage workers, environment, pollution of rivers, felling of trees, allotment of incorrect marks in C.E.T. for admission to medical colleges, charging of exorbitant fees by Colleges etc.

He was appointed by Hon'ble High Court as Amicus curiae in some matters including PILs concerning rise in offences relating to Women, Accidents in Railways, custodial death in Thane Central Prison etc.

Represented Maharashtra Medical Council, Serum Institute of India Limited, Maharashtra State Textile Corporation and other Organizations.

Legal Advisor to many Tenants' Committees/Societies regarding redevelopment projects in Mumbai.

Appeared for Union of India as Senior Counsel (Group-II) for few years.

He was elevated as an Additional Judge of the Bombay High Court on 7th January, 2020.
